Ok so i'm new to this site and i'm a female so i don't know alot about vehicles. I have no a/c or heat, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Most of the time it just blows air but same temperature no matter what. My husband had heard something about a flap or something of the sorts possible getting stuck and not working right. If so how do you get to this I would really like to avoid from taking it somewhere and being out the money if it's simply an easy fix.

Welcome to the forum!
So the times that the climate control seems to work, is the A/C cold like you would expect it to be? If so, what you've heard about a blend door is probably correct.
Does your car have the manual (knob) controls for the HVAC or the electronic system? If you'd like the relevant excerpt from the service manual, send me a Private Message with an e-mail address for you that can accept PDFs as well as whether the manual or electronic system.

caseys2604, I'm a newbie & a female too. Having a similar problem but have the added issue of losing collant. My reserach here has explained to me that if I had no coolant then there was no coolant going to the heater core so there there would be no heat. Dropped it of at my mechanic who I trust 100%. He checked the thermostat & that was ok. He thinks I need to replace the water pump. Rod seems to be smarter with cars than I am, so I hope you take his offer & maybe he can give you some advice.
Just wanted you to know that as newbie women we can learn & this is a great forum for learning about car repairs. Good luck to you.
Winter is around the corner. I live in New England & am a courier driver so heat is important.

I'm a happy camper. Was scared to death of a failed head gasket as I went through that with another car & was very pricey. In this case got a new theromstat and new water pump for a couple hundred bucks & all is fine. No overheating & heat is back on. Now can get back to work.
Casey, hope your doing better with you car with no heat & overheating.
