Something fun, pure recreation build…I started with an R/M Chevy (Die-Hard in this case) kit.
The headers needed a mounting flange; they looked bland with no visible means of attachment to the engine. And there ware no provisions for spark plugs molded to the heads. I also added some locating pins made of stretched sprue at the same time to make installing them to the heads easier. Holes were drilled into the outboard pipes to accept the sprue. The flanges are made of .015 sheet plastic. The one on top is assembled, parts for the other below.

Here the pair is with paint...

I sanded off the molded in grille vents from the bumper/air dam and made receptacles for a pair of HID lights with brass tubing. (A lens is in the drivers side hole in this photo, from a Tamiya Morgan kit.)

The fan belt/pulley set is one piece, all it needs is some detail painting (and a little pin vise action...).

Can't wait to eat more of it!

I try to come back by any trip and holiday with a "special" model: over 1997 sping I went to New Hampshire for job for a couple weeks and I found a graceful small model shop on Meredith, Lake district: I picked exactly the Die Hard Chevy racing Pick Up..... I wondered for years how to do the headlights before discover that they're sticker on Nascar cars (TBH I discovered on Cars moovie LOL)

So I'll follow wirth double attention, mine is still mint ;)

Great to see you're still alive, Mark! I actually was just talking about you yesterday when I saw one of those 3-Wheelers. I can't wait to see what you have for this project!

Thanks for the kind words guys, just a little something to play with, can’t seem to find large enough blocks of time to build anything serious right now due in part to “those 3 Wheelers”.
This one will not be the Die-Hard truck, (which came with my decal art in the kit BTW…). I have been painting on the body, hopefully I’ll have something to show soon that will provide some insight as to what it will look like.

Oh, yeah. Just a quick recreational build. Aha. I guess that most of us will be drooling over that one. Already started very promising! Looking forward for updates. Have fun :)

The engine is coming together. A little texturing on the cast parts but pretty much mostly OOB.
I am keeping the oil sump system from the kit and doing some simple plumbing. The starter is also being wired. I machined an adaptor for the oil filter inlet from aluminum, but it will probably be out of sight once it is in the truck.

Ok, so this is NOT some ultra-rare 1/12 NASCAR styled truck you've stumbled across....?? :uhoh: :iceslolan
Just had to ask to make sure, cause I didn't notice your over scale rule you usually add in...:naughty:

This will be a stellar build Mark, glad to see you still keeping busy mate.

The kit single 4BBL manifold was used as a base for an injection system. The big round plenum is just brass that was textured with paint. It has a dual ignition set up. The distributors are machined from scrap sprue. It is also plumbed for NOX. Just having some fun…

The engine is still growing. The ignition wires are ready to be routed to the plugs. Then the air cleaners will be installed… And maybe then the intake will make more sense…

I’ll see about including my “big ruler” later to prove it is me… - Mark

The body is coming along. Most of the paint work is done. This is all paint, no decals or transfers, but I did do some creative masking...
Tamiya lacquers for the paint. It will stay matte sheen.

The distributors and plugs are wired... Yep, only 8 plugs...

Here are the air cleaners I made for the engine. The bases are machined from aluminum. The elements are real foam.

I machined a few aluminum parts, a fuel filler and vent tube, and a pair of valve knobs for the nitrous bottles.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v92/Scale-Master/DSC08939.jpg
The HID lights are installed and the bumper is attached. I made reflectors with bulbs that are tinted blue. In some angles the blue comes through. Also added a screen grille.

Suspension...
Replaced the rear coil springs with ones I wound from wire. The rotors/calipers are Tamiya sourced mounted on brass "adaptors", I added the "vent" holes. The rest is OOB... - Mark

The exact same thing that came to my mind too. Love the attention to detail and suberb building skills at work. Even the one piece belt and pulleys are amazing to look at.

The seats are Tamiya parts box parts, probably from a Skyline. The harness's are cut from vinyl. The belt hardware is not PE, I also cut it, but from Mylar. Decals also from the parts box... - Mark

Rear suspension is in and will ride height adjusted later.

I drilled out the kit gauges and put some parts box decals in from the back.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v92/Scale-Master/DSC08982.jpg

The interior is coming along... Floor mats are some pre-flocked paper with adhesive left over from a Pocher build.
