What does putting a turbo kit on do to make it not pass?

Why wouldn't it pass? Unless your info there is wrong and you're actually in California or something...Other than that you should have no probs passing.

from what i know, this kit is not carb legal. could I be mistaken? I took my car to the inspection station a couple days ago and failed with just my basic mods (i\h\e and high-flow cat). with more air being pushed through how can I possibly expect to pass?

just put your stock exhaust, and catalytic converter back on, and take the test, you should pass, the header, and intake you should be able to keep on it...

and then when you pass the test and get your sticker, or whatever it is, put your catback, and hi flow back on... and DAMN! am I glad Maine does'nt have emissions regulations... otherwise these fishermen freaks would have to trade in their 8cyl gas guzzlers, that reek of unburnt fuel.. and I won't have to worry about my LEV (Low Emissions Vehicle) accord. My inspection consists of lights, turn signals, brakes, wipers, and if it can drive into the garage...

The turbo kit's downpipe should end up it the stock location to bolt up to the stock cat.
And isn't CARB legal a california thing? I thought thats what the C is for - California Air something something.???

i apologize to everyone kind enough to repsond for my ignorance. What I am referring to is not C.A.R.B. legallity ,but the ability for the car to pass emissions test for inspection. new jersey requires it and i need that sticker to keep my car registered. i do not know anyone who can get me a sticker , so what are my other options????/

slip the inspector a bill ( like $20) usually they just check everything else, and look the other way.. but be wary... but changing to your stock cat should work, and it's not that hard... just 4 bolts I think..
