My neighbour: Named her kid "Jedi"....

What do you think about that?

My flatmates think the poor kid will be a virgin until he's 30. I think its a little irresponsible naming a child that...in an English speaking country anyway.

Oh and I don't think his last name is "Master" or "Knight" or anything like that...

Yeah I think nobody has anything to say bcs there really is no argument. Anyone who names their kid "Jedi" should be prosoceuted for child abuse. No real argument against me I'll bet. :frog:

But really, his parents are irresponsible; A kid at our school is named Dragon; its pretty obvious his mom was a crack whore.

Especially in this country. Poor bastard.
Then again.

By the time he's of an age where he goes to school maybe everyone would have forgotten Star Wars.

i see nothing wrong with calling a kid Jedi. my mum used to work at the birth registry office thinger ma jigger place YAKNOW and this couple tried to name their baby Gonorhea (sp) coz they thought it was a pretty name but had no idea what it meant so the ppl working there had to explain and wouldnt allow it. uhmmmm another couple had the last name Sua (pronounced Sewer) and called their kid Hutt Valley, so he was Hutt Valley Sua. </end>

I think it was my grandmother who told me of a girl whose name was "Crystal Shande" which sounds really cool, right? The family name is "Leer". :bloated:

I had a teacher in 8th grade named Dave Davies. Oh, and my cousin named her daughters Brigid (said like Bridgette but with a D at the end) and Mathilde. They aren't evil, just UGLY. :o

edit: Too bad that we don't have laws like these (http://apnews.excite.com/article/20030506/D7QS0VHG0.html) regarding baby names. ;)

Well go ahead and name your kid something strange like that. When he comes home from school beat up day after day and has no friends you'll think differently.

Ryong means dragon if im not mistaken in chinese for example :P Stuff like that.. but ya jedi... ok nuff siad lol. What about the guys who changed their names for advertisments some guy called himself Turok for the next turok game (forever, he got like 1000 $ or something.. like wtf) another guy some gun loving freak who went to iraq renamed himself optimus prime claiming that the battle optimus prime fought in transformers is similar to iraq (WTF? crack smoking freaks!) I was like ... I'll never like transformers as i liked them before... some people are just wack

Um... Unless your from a VERY kind town, kids get teased and tormented b/c of their names. TRUST ME. That's why when you look into baby names they give you possible "unwanted nicknames" that might come from it. Kids are cruel. My brother's name used to be "Cryin' Ryan"... names really only go downhill from there.

almost EVERYONE gets teased about their name, but beaten up welp in my 18 years of life ive NEVER heard of ANYONE getting beaten up because of their name.

Sometimes the kid who gets teased gets tired of being teased and starts the fight.

Kids have a hard enought time fitting in. A funny name often makes it worse.
