I want to use the Tamiya bright red for scale modelling cars but...
The Tamiya Bright Red colour is available as spray can. But I cannot locate its acrylic bottle version. I figured if I used this colour, then what colour can I use for paint brush touch-ups?

I'm afraid the closest you can find is Tamiya X-7, but it's not a 100% match, I'm afraid.
Tip: for touching up you can spray a small amount into a glass jar (using a straw) and then use your brush to touch something up.

I think I *may* have found the bottled equivalent of Tamiya's Bright Red.
I saw Gunze Sangyo Aqueous Hobby Color have:
1) H-23 Shine Red
2) H-86 Red Madder
I purchased both but still have difficulty comparing their cap colors against the Tamiya Spray Bright Red cap color to see which is closer.

I don't ALWAYS trust the Tamiya cap colors.
Bright Red came out even MORE 'orangey' than the cap showed.
It was correct for my job, but it's a LOT more 'orangey' than Italian Red'.

Then I'll just have to put them to tests ;)

NEVER trust the cap colors! Tamiya and Gunze could easily buy the colored plastic for their caps from the same distributor. The pigment in the paint and the dyes in the molded plastic cap have nothing in common. Unless the cap is PAINTED with the contents of the can or bottle, it's just an aproximation the real color!

Then again red is hardest to photograph and show it's true color. This is also Tamiya Bright Red but looks brighter than that Torino.

I like the red in this photo. Btw, do you know what colour of red used on the VW New Beetle on the roads? I seemed to observe a trend over here in Singapore where some cars have a "less shinier" kind of red similar to the VW New Beetle's red which I could not identify. This is because I want to avoid this kind of red, which I hoped is not Bright Red!
I'll try to source for a photo somewhere...hmmm...

To MY eyes, my Torino is a little DARK and Veyron's is a little LIGHT.
Yes, red is tough to duplicare electronically, but somewhere between the two of our cars is what comes out of the can. IMO.
I've not seen any red Beetles in Canada.!!

Reminds me of the Ferrari F1 2002's red. Is it the same red?

Sorry you don't follow F1, also! ;) Course the last year or so (mostly because of the F2002) you could be forgiven....
Anyway, the F2002 is not Ferrari red- it's really flourescent red. As mentioned above, the actual shade of red is hard to see in digital pics, but if you ever pick up a copy of FIA's F1 magazine, it's easy to see that no road going Ferrari ever left the factory in that color.

The F1 car isn't flourescent red, it is only a bright orangy red, when you see the car in person with Shumi in the seat wearing his helmet, which is a true flourescent color, there is a huge difference. Tamiya's Bright Red is a very close match for the F1 car. :)

Veyron, are you using a Nikon Coolpix? Those seem to accentuate the reds especially. :)
Gunze Sangyo Shine Red is a dead ringer for it, at least that's what I hear Rally Raider say.
