Hi,
On my 2002 Highlander with 68,000 mi the check engine and VSC lights came on this morning. I know that for some cars there is a way to retrieve the cod without hooking up the diagnostic tool, basically by performing a cetain sequence of operations. On a friends car, for example, turning the ignition on/off several times in a row will read out and display the enging check light code on the dashboard display.
Does anyone know if something like that is supported on the 202 Highlander. This is a Limited, 4WD, V6.
Help is appreciated.
Thanks

On Highlanders, sometimes the problem can be vacuum hose leak or hose being dislodged, or gas cap gasket. A common one for V6 is hose near the air cleaner housing being dislodged. If there is an Autozone nearby, they will read the code for free.
