Reverse light switch on Transmission

The very first post I ever made was on this topic. My reverse lights weren't workin and the people on this forum helped out alot. I looked to see if a fuse was blown but it wasn't. I pulled the enitre rear pannel apart to get a good look at the lights and there was no power going to them when I was in Reverse and then I gave up. Fianlly I got fed up and tested everything over again ( giving up is for whimps). In the daylight I realized that there are two wires coming from the Transmission switch, one is yellow and the other is Green with a Black stripe. To my surprise the Green wire was in active when the car was in reverse. This is the same color of the wire that feeds the tail lights. I was sad. Here is the question, has anyone ever replaced the reverse switch on the tranmission before? and if so, How hard is this fix?

Your help would be great if you have any info what so ever, Thank you very much

I changed mine about a week ago, all u do is disconnect the two wires from the switch and then get a 17 or 19mm spanner (cant remember exactly then it just unthreads,

thread in the new one plug in the wires and yours done

Simple as that ;)

before you replace it, check to make sure it's not coroted ends, that all mine turned out to be, drove 1.5 years with no reverse only to find it was a 1 min fix.

check it dude.

Where would the corostion be? If this is the problem then that would be excellent. I have of water in my one of my tails but I don't even get power back there so I am pretty sure that it is not coroded ends but if you could explain what you mean then I will deffinatly check it out.

my corossion was the connection on the transmission (2 wires that connect in two other wire) the inside of that connection was full of corosion and no connection was being made.
