What would be the effect of increasing from 225/70R15 to a 225/75R15? Vehicle is 2000 Ford Ranger XL Reg Cab, 2WD, no mods, still all stock.

Your original 225/70-15 size is 27.4" overall diameter with 6.20" sidewall.
225/75-15 would 28.3" overall diameter with a 6.64" sidewall.
You would not have any rubbing or bumping issues with the new size.
The advantages of going with the 225/75-15's would be better ride, less impact noise on rougher roads and less fender gap so that truck would look better when view from the side.
The disadvantages of going to 225/75-15's would be less steering response, more sidewall flex that would be most apparent in high speed cornering and higher gearing.
