I have a 1995 3.8l regal with 170k on it. I drive this car 60+ miles each day. Off an on for the last year or so after running out on the highway and then slowing down the car would die, maybe once a month or so. I noticed this morning on the way to work the ABS light was on. When I slowed down to turn into work the engine died. I pulled over to restart it but it wouldn't crank. I kept cycling the key and it finally started cranking but won't start. Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks!
Thanks!

sounds like a failed crank position sensor to me from what you describe.

I was thinking the same thing, but "it wouldn't crank" and "I noticed....the ABS light was on" lead me to believe there could also be an electrical failure somewhere too. I'd first check the condition of the battery terminals/cables; and I mean actually unscrew and inspect them don't just look at them and say "eh, they look fine." Next, I would have the battery and alternator load tested (AutoZone and Advance Auto do this for free).
In short, your crank sensor could be bad, but I think you also have an electrical issue at the same time.
