a/c problem

i have a 91 park av and the a/c is giviln me issues. the climate control is funching but the fan stays on even when the car is off and the a/c will short cycle then it locks out and will not cycle agin unlsee i remove the pos bat cabel then reconnect it then it will run for about a minnet then it locks out and the low coolent light comes on i thought it might be the control unit in the dash so i replaced it but i have the same problem and the fan will not shut off, so i have it pull the fuse out to stop it. what might my issue be? can any one help me?:runaround: thanks.

that's normal to have the fan running after you shut it off...
is your car overheating/ having coolant leak?

I do not know what to do with the AC short cycle. I would suspect it's low on charge of freon.
When you say the fan keeps running, do you mean the blower fan for the heater and AC? IF so, that is probably the blower control module. It controls the variable speeds for the blower fan for the automatic controlled AC with the digital readout. The basic AC option had a 3 or 4 speed blower fan that uses resistors. This replaces the resistors for the automatic unit.
Follow the power lead from the blower motor on the firewall to find where the blower control module is. It will be placed so it sticks into the air duct that the fan blows through because like the resistor units it has to be cooled by the air stream.
