battery problem. plz help!!!

i have a 2001 honda civic dx 2 dr. i swapped the alternator and checked the battery it checked out. the car turns on normally nd runs great. but i remove the negative and the car dies. something is not letting the battery charge. can someone please help me out!!!!

If you removed the cable while the car was running - bad news! You could have killed the ECU.
If the car was running why did you remove the cable?
Here is the simple procedure to test your charging system:
a) Car not running - battery should read about 12.4 - 12.6 volts.
b) car running - check voltage at the battery terminals: it should read something around 13 - 14 volts.
For more sophisticated test go to Autozone. They test your system for free.

i removed the wire to chack the alternator. i was told thats how u can check it. thnx i will try that procedure out today and just to be sure ill also take it to autozone. do u think it will be something with the fuse box if it isnt the ecu??

I would pull out fuses one by one and check them for the continuity. Fuse may look fine but still be bad.

the charge was fine it turned out being a problem with the fuse box. thnx for the help.
