I got a 1986 camaro with a 305. I got modified exauhst, air berather and no air pump. I'm having hooker comp head put on soon. What else could I do to get as much power as I can out of the little 305? would it be best to rebuild the the top half of the engine?

stick to bolt on's, money spent rebuilding the 305 topend is money that be spent rebuilding a 350 top end. Headers and exhaust are #1, consider a good tuneup, maybe a perf RPM edelbrock intake, but much past that, the 305 isnt worth spending a whole lot on, unless you dead set on keeping it that is.

Hey now, don't be hate'n, there some stout 305's out there with litte work. Mine initially ran circles around the 350 L98 I have now.
