my passenger power window stopped working... the switch does nothing now. i took allllll of the fuses out from the kick panel and none of them are burned out so i know thats not the problem. are there fuses in the door panel that can get burned out.. if its not a fuse its probably the motor that moves the window up/down.. how do i find out if the motor is broken or not?

All you have to do is take out the switch assembly,

(the sunroof switch pops out of the instrument cluster; the window switch is more tricky - you have to disassemble the door panel. Use a service manual like Chilton's to find out how.)

and find your way underneath the push buttons.

You'll see 4 metal contacts embedded into the switch, and 2 metal strips which are likely to fall out, be careful with these.

Clean off all that black stuff that has accumulated from all metal areas and replace them.

If you notice that the embedded contacts have quite a bit of wear on them (have large indents in the metal) the switch is likely to be unusable soon. You can try using solder on them, but I'm not too good with that yet.

Your switches should be working fine now.

Thats if the power isnt working..... or only works when you press reeeeeaaal hard

window doesnt move from either the switch on the driver side or the passenger side.. i dont think they would both stop working at the same time, i think something else is causing it to not work
