Acetone in gas?

Has any body here tried this in thier Metro's?

This was a hot topic around the web a few years ago. It is supposed to help burn gas more efficiently. I tried it for a tank or two and didn't see any improvement. Some others cautioned against it saying it will eat stuff that shouldn't be eaten along the path from tank to TB.
