Well I've just spent 3 hours trying to get onto the net (something about virtual memory) - it's tough at the bottom of the learning curve. !!

Anyhow pictures of my completed 350z attached together with a couple of my current projects.

The 350z and S2000 use the SAS transkits

Hope you like them

Everythings looks sweet, but I must say that the wing on the 350Z looks a little crooked.

I think the curve of the boot makes it look that way

I picked the paint up at a model show over here - I think is was some a guy had left over from a full scale car he was spraying- think it was a custom mix but I really don't know

Yep its the Aoshima Veilside Combat II VFD3S RX-7 - just got it from HLJ but the the first time had to pay customs charges

The ride height may be a touch higher when its finished as it hasn't got a chassis in at the moment - still wheres theres a will theres a way

Great looking Z. The color suits the car, the kit is applied flawlessly, and the drilled rotors look realistic.

Doesn't bother me! I think i prefer it and had thought about maybe doing a racing version like that, won't get around to it. I infact sold a couple of the kits like that when the first mold came to the end of its life. The wear and tear had caused the bits of rubber break off that go inside the two intakes, I know Vric had one and wasn't sure if you were the other when i saw your Z.

Steve
I must admit I was a bit disappointed with it - the real car on the box looks much better - the back end is just weird but I'll have to see what I can do with it

Comments welcome (I can take the abuse !)

Progress has been slow as (and I'm sure this is a common problem) I've got too many models on the go at the same time.I've managed finish the bodywork & sprayed up the S2000 today - the results are attached - the colour is Rover Tahiti Blue pearlescent although hard to tell from the photo.
Not much left to do except clear lacquer the body, polish it out, spray all the satin black trim, paint the interior, spray the wheels, build the suspension etc, etc. (j/k):D
Anyway just thought I'd post this to prove I haven't forgotten it.
more to follow (eventually).

Hi Andy,

actually my 1:1 car is also painted in rover tahita mica. I have the same problem when using the paint on my models as it is coming out too dark. It's suppose to be a lighter blue but not as light as mica blue ts-50 from tamiya. Good job on the kit though!

http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/812699carpic.jpg

Didn't mean to hijack your thread or anything andy, just wanted to show everyone the color of the paint.

The blue in the interior needs a 2nd coat as it's Humbrol super enamel which doesn't live up to it's name.

Ah, very interesting! Love the look of the front end, not too sure about the rear but i will save judgement til its complete.

BTW, I may just have to pinch your idea:wink: I have a Del Sol collecting dust and the ITR front will match upto it perfectly - a future project i think!

I guess it looks pretty cool.

Why don't you make another thread?

Why don't you try putting that ITR front end on a supra.

You could have a blitz supra.
