First step is to find TDC compression stroke.
There is 2 TDC's.
One compression stroke and one exhaust.
You can remove spark plug and feel compression stroke.
Also some have 2 timing marks.
I always use something soft like plastic straw and reach in plug hole and feel for piston to reach TDC.
Also make sure you have firing order right on cap

you have it 180 degrees off....spin over till #1 cylinder hits tdc again

yea, there is a good thread on this in the "how to" section. what exactly are/were you doing to make it "out of time". ie, did the truck move with the dist out?
