2000 cougar brake switch. HELP!

I am in no way a car person. so please forgive me.
going off of what a friend is telling me from the floor of my car, the switch that tells my brake lites to turn on was ripped out somehow. i can find plenty of threads on how to replace them. but none that tells us where the other end connects to. we know where the switch is supposed to go, but where the wires run to with the other end of the plug thing is a mystery. cant see anything that looks like where it should connect to.
Please help???
