98 Grand Prix GT won't start

Hi,
First post and a lot of questions.

For starters, what is the "pressure sensor" to the passenger side of the intake manifold?
Is the MAF sensor the same as a MAP sensor?

I drove my car with the "service engine light" on for a couple months. Oil change Guy ran a code scan and said it was the MAP sensor and pointed to the MAF sensor.
Well, I kept driving it for a couple weeks. It stalled at stop light after a high accelleration (trying to make the yellow light).
Lucky enough the guy that helped had a code scanner. I didn't see the code number, but it said "high barametric pressure" also something about the MAF sensor.
Turns over, has spark, has good fuel pressure.
I put in a new MAF sensor. Turned over and it still would not fire up.
Am I suppose to clear the code?:runaround:

No, they are two different sensors. I'd probably look at the map sensor first. The circle in the picture should be the map sensor location.

Ok, I did that. Still not firing up.

Yep, get the code cleared. At the very least you will know the problem persists if the light comes back on.

I'll do that. I really hope not clearing the code was my problem the whole time.
I was told you should not have to get it back running.

I've rarely heard of a MAP sensor causing a stall/no start but the MAF can. Clear the codes to be sure, then if it still wont start, try unplugging the MAF (with the key off). If it starts with the MAF unplugged, you found the problem.

I don't understand your post, you did what? Any electrical part, I check the wiring circuits first. If there is a problem with the electrical circuit somewhere, replacing the part won't fix it.
