MAF problem i think?

I have a 2000 grand prix 3.8 and i was getting a code 102 MAF low input and i tested (at the MAF plug) for 12v (which i had), 5v ref (which it showed), and ground (that i had but i spliced in a better ground). so obviously i changed the MAF sensor (not the most expensive one, refurbished) and cleared the codes but the low input code persists!!! I don't get it cause i have the volts at the male plug?? Anyone came across this and would be willing to shed some light?? All help will be appreciated :runaround: Mabey a computer update?? all the wiring looks good

Exchange the refurbished MAF out with a different one.

X2...Preferably with a brand new OEM sensor..

did you clear the code after installing the replacement MAF?

If so, then X3, especially if your reman one is a Cardone brand, they have a high failure rate.

Just replaced MAFS on '98 GP GT 3.8L w/ 77K miles. Limped into local dealer 'cause I wasn't sure what was wrong ... engine hesitating & dying in traffic ... scary! $500+ later, I was back on the road. New GM part $360 & $150 for 1.5 hrs. labor. (Ironically, the GM part is made in Japan.) A sucker born every minute & I'm living proof.
