Damp passenger floor area.

While working on the blend door on my `04 Taurus I noticed that the passenger side floor mat was damp clear up to where the A/C lines come through the firewall. I'm guessing it's a clogged condensor drain but I guess it could also be a clogged cowl drain too. I haven't had a chance to get undr the car and check the drains yet but what should I look for and where should I look?

Was it definitely water and not coolant?
As it sounds like you're aware, the cowl drains were a known issue on these as well and since there are other threads related to those I won't repeat such info here. Plus I don't recall the details and would need to search for the threads anyway.

Thanks for the reply Shorod. It's definately water and it's coming from the condensate drain. The drain "spout" doesn't look to be clogged but the water dribbles out of the spout and finds it's way back into the car. Any ideas?

Unfortunately, I don't really have any good ideas. Did you try a piece of mechanic's wire up the spout a few inches, then wiggle it around to make sure the drain is clear?

Also water can get into the blower housing thru the area where the cabin filter is. If things aren't installed properly over the filter water can drain off the windshield right down into the unit.
