A/C works just perfectly one day, and the next day the compressor won't kick on. Outside air temp in the 80s. Faulty body control module? Bad switch somewhere? Any ideas from the group? Thanks.

with a set of pressure guages see what the pressure is ..should be around 120psi...engine off...lets say you have no/little pressure then I would look at the condenser coils behind the grill for damage..
If you have pressure , and the compressor won't engage , then with the gauge connected ,,,,short out the low pressure switch to see if that is the problem..

seen it before-- your airgap on clutch is probably too wide- won't pull cclutch in unless it is bumped- next time it is off when it should be on- tap on front off clutch if it pulls in, then remove a shim from behind clutch driver.

Is your blower blowing air out of the vents. If not then it could be your blower moter resistor. not hard at all to change

It does blow air just fine. I think brcidd is right on about the clutch; if the compressor is not working I now go looking for a good pothole and the jolt usually results in the compressor coming on. Does that mean the clutch is bad, or will the shim trick fix this?
