Hi,
My ABS and Traction light came on and I checked the code with a scanner and it came up LR Speed Sensor. When I looked at the wheel hub, it appears that the sensor is a part of the bearing. But when I checked a part store they sell the speed senor separately. Could someone please help me verify before I replace the whole wheel bearing.
Thx

The hub/wheel speed sensor are not serviceable separately. The entire hub needs to be replaced...

The people at your parts store are retarded. The wheel speed sensor is an integral part of the hub bearing and cannot be replaced separately.

I thought it was attached. Now my next question is what the heck is this part used for: http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/BOR0/S8367.oap?year=2001&make=Pontiac&model=Grand%2BPrix&vi=1374779&keyword=speed+control+sensor

That is use in the trans for that actual vehicle speed that is displayed on your instrument cluster.
