it increases the amount of oxygen in the combustion chamber, allowing the engine to burn more fuel and thus make more power.

i dont quite understand how boost pressure is directly related to nitrous and its use. i know it has to do with air pressure......and uhhhh ....well this is where the question comes in..

That is because boost pressure isn't directly related to nitrous or it's use. Boost is the amount of positive pressure, in the intake system, above atmospheric pressure at sea level and is almost exclusively used to describe the output of some sort of forced induction. Boost is often measured in psi or Bar (and rarely in atmospheres). If a turbocharger was making 10 psi boost, the actual pressure, including atmosphere, would be 24.7 psi. Nitrous uses a different principle to operate, providing extra oxygen by chemical reaction rather than forced induction, therefor boost does not apply to nitrous. If I misinterpreted your question please let me know.
