"Potential" flywheel problem with my TH700

As most of you know i've been working on swapping in a Goodwrench 350 LM1 (truck version i think). Today i finally got it in, but the flywheel is much bigger than the one on my 305. Its a 177 tooth flywheel (if i counted right). And get this, after i paired it up to the trans, theres about 1/8 inch of space between the flywheel and the bell housing. Is this gunna be a problem? I figure since the flywheel isn't suppose to have any play in it that it should be fine, but i can't help but feel a little nervous about it :uhoh:

If everything is assembled correctly with the specified torque on all fasteners you will have no problems.

I assume that by "1/8 inch of space between flex plate and bellhousing" you meant "flex plate and torque converter". That means you properly indexed the torque converter and everything is golden.

There are two flex plates for those SBC engines - a 153 tooth (12.5") and a 168 tooth (14"). The starter for the 153 tooth uses a short and long bolt straight across, and the 168 tooth starter uses two long bolts diagonal from each other. Either will work in your application so long as you have the correct starter.

Ok so mine must be the 168 tooth because 14" sounds correct. And the starter has two long bolts diagonal from each other. What i meant by 1/8 inch of space is that there is only 1/8 inch of space between the teeth of the flywheel and the the left and right sides of the bellhousing. Or in other words, the diameter of the flywheel is so big that it barely fits inside the diameter of the bellhousing. But anyway, like i said, i didnt see any problems when i manually cranked the motor. It'll FINALLY be running today so that'll be the real test.
