I was just wondering how do you all clean your airbrush after using it? I use acrylics mainly and I just bring my airbrush to the sink and wash them with running water..

I run a little alcohol through mine after use. I found that an old washing detergent jug works great as an "air brush cleaning station", and it's about $30 cheaper! I just take off the cap, stick the tip of my brush in and hold a rag over the top while spraying the alcohol through it. Same thing I do for color changes also. Has worked great for about a yr now.

The brush body gets grungy after a few kits, so I throw it in a bin of CSC for a day and then rinse it off. Comes out looking and working like new!

CSC is Castrol Super Clean.
Its a degreaser and can be found in stores such as Wal mart and has the ability to strip paint off models. Heres some info on it in the FAQ (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?postid=579007#post579007) :) ;)

Hmm, I wonder if I can put my airbrush in CSC. I've heard that it will react with aluminum, not sure what my airbrush is made of. :o

After I spray lacquers or enamels, I give it a couple of cupfuls with lacquer thinner at 40 PSI. After acrylics I rinse the cup out under running water then spray a little rubbing alcohol through. I clean it thoroughly with lacquer thinner between projects but maybe I'll try the CSC next. :)
