The dome and cabin lights on my neighbors' 2000 Lincoln Town car will not shut off.
Dash warning indicates door ajar, but multi door slams do nothing to resolve the situation. "Push Interior" on the headlight knob will also not fix it. Suggestions please.

Sounds like one of the door sensors is toast or broken. One at a time, manually depress the sensor that would indicate a closed door until you find the one not working. This isn't guaranteed to work but it is where I would start.

A looooooooong time ago.. just after I went from the 460 CID Lincoln to the 4.6L.. my kids played with the rear dome lights.. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what was going.. tested and re-tested door switches, dash switches... scratching my head etc...
Turns out, the rear dome lamps (in my '96) swivel a bit, one of them was just a hair off being closed and it threw the whole system out of whack.
just saying.... :)
