2006 Grand Caravan. The gear shift lever gets very stiff and hard to move once the van is driven for a while. First thing in the morning and after the van's been sitting for a while, it's fine. Anything I should be concerned about?

well you should make sure its not binding on any harness, etc that could have come loose. inspect it for sure on that issue, asst. to help shift with key on engine off brake applied or started with brake applied while you look down through engine compartment by transmission to verify nothing is touching. If nothing is touching...good. if you want, next you can take a tooth brush and clean the screw that is attached to transmission shifter, the one holding the cable!!! not the white plastic housing screw. mark a white circle around screw that is holding cable to shifter assb., any color is fine as long as you can see it well. remove it, and maybe wire tie it out of way so when you check the cable it wont hit anything, or just hold it while asst moves gear selector in drivers seat. verify it sticking or not, this should point to cable or transmission. then reinstall and tighten screw where you marked circle. make sure it is in park when removing and reinstalling. I dont know how to fix either, just to check. if I have this problem and it was cable, I'd try lubin the cable and moving selector back and forth while spraying wd-40 maybe in cable. maybe around trans area where it connects too. i would also have the cable removed from trans before lubing it. well hope this helps
if cable is still issue maybe check under dash where the other side of the cable is on steering colum...

Problem fixed. The cable was binding up and needed to be replaced.
