What usually causes the dash vents on the passengers side of the cab to stop blowing air conditioning? Is it a vacuum problem with the vent controls?

if you have the automatic ac system this is usually the ac control module..this has caused most all these problems..they are available for about 100.oo.....
vacuum is not used ...this is controlled by motors..these controls vents and the temperature air blending...

i have a 2005 but i do not have auto temp controls. i have his and her manual controls. the vents are stuck on defroster and floor and will not blow anywhere else. would this be the control module also?

disconnect the battery ground for 15 min then see if this clears this issue...this does work sometimes ...
then if not , this would be the hvac control module...this is where you dial in your hvac as desired...check connections and if everything looks good , it is usually this device..
your settings are changed with motors that move doors that change vents/temp demanded..
It is possible the motor is stuck ...debris can get in there and do this also sometimes..

the hvac control module is the head unit or where you actually dial in the desired temp and fan speeds?

the temperture control motor on the passengerside is bad or debris is interfering with it. step motors control these doors.
I never worked on these his/her temp controls...

i fixed it. it is called the mode motor, it controls all of the vent doors. it is located by the gas pedal just above it. i pulled it out and checked the motor. it was bad. replace the whole assembly.
