97 Lesabre fuel pump question

My Lesabre just shutoff and would not restart about 3 miles from home , so I coasted it all the way home, it was a good thing it was all downhill. When I got home I proceeded to restart it but it was hard.

When it would start I could always hear the fuel pump kick on beforehand, but when it would not start I could not hear any hum or anything from the fuel tank, does this mean my fuel pump has gone bad, The Lesabre has 198,000 miles on it and I believe the original fuel pump.

Also how do you go about finding the Harness code for the sending unit, thank you

Welcome to AF! I deleted your duplicate threads, so don't worry about it. It does sound like your FP has failed. The Grey wire supplies power to the FP. BTW, 198K is not bad on the original FP!

I'm still not sure if its the fuel pump or not, car started fine today and I ran it for 5 miles with no problems,

I did however notice , when I looked underneath at the fuel line between the engine and the fuel filter, that there is a kink (looks like it was bashed underneath with a stone or rock), and I was wondering if this could play any part in what it was doing, I also wondered about the TPS

Do some basic diagnosis, like fuel pressure test & TPS voltage first.
