How do I take off panel under steering column to access fuses

The driver's seat electric controls do not work. I suspect a fuse. The panel below steering column in on tight and has two very small bolts at bottom. No tool I have will fit these two small bolts... So do I remove them (after a trip to hardware store to buy a tool to unscrew the aggravating bolts) or can I pop off panel from top, using a screwdriver as a wedge? Thanks.

8mm or 7mm nutdriver or socket. have you checked the panels to the left side of the dash. Open drivers door...look at the end extreme left side of the dash... remove panel there to see fuses?

I do not know of any Chevy that has a fuse panel in the steering column.

1. Post what year Sub you have.
2. Reference your owners manual for fuse locations.

my 01 sub has the fuse panel or at least one of the fuse panesl on the Left hand side of the dash, you have to open the drivers door to get to it. No tools required.

Well since u say u have electric Seats I'm guessing it's probably a 92' or newer. If it's '92-'94' the old square interior. There is a panel under the headlight switch with a slot recessed or molded into it and u just simply pull it straight out and the fuses are marked. If it's 96 or newer u have to open the driver door and look on the end of the dash right by the door jam u will notice a small panel with a small slot that your finger or thumb fits in for u to pull out and the fuse might be there or under the hood there's a black square plastic "box" on the drivers side close to the brake booster/ brake fluid reservoir that u have to lift off the fuse box cover and will reveal more fuses and on the underside of that fuse cover it has a diagram of the fuses. that is if u have a stock GM truck now if u have a conversion say by Starcraft like mine or regency or such theres usually a fuse block attached to the firewall with a couple of extra fuses for electric seats and fog lights and such so u just have to see if one is blown out and if not check for loose or disconnected wires or maybe even cut. I hope this helps u out
