1989 F150 Clutch Bracket problem

Hello, I have a '89 F150 4.9 with 4 speed. The Clutch Pedal has to be all the way on the floor to start engine. The previous owner said the Clutch bracket has a crack in it. The tranny shifts good but it is getting harder to start. Can someone offer some advice on what to look for and possible corrections? Thanks in advance, Mark.
