many problems with 2000 venture

i have an electrical issue that seems to get worse and worse it started with my wipers doing the stopping in upright position the my windows started not rowing up and down all the time now they dont at all, then my back wiper stopped working for a while then started and stopped again, also my electronic door locks only lock the vehical not unlock them, also my gas gauge only works when i have the car sitting still and nothing moving in it as soon as someone moves it goes back to full and stays there. help please. now i also have my air bag light on i have no idea what caused it thinking something electrical again i am pretty mechanically able so i should be able to fix most stuff dont be afraid to get into detail thanks for your help

I would get a repair manual with good wiring diagrams and start looking at grounds....

do they make chilten manuals anymore thats the kind i used to get haynes didnt have very good diagrams. you think all these problems are caused by bad grounds?

Have these problems been creeping up on you one at a time or did this all happen at once?

If that's the case then I would follow lesterl's advice. A good wiring diagram is priceless in these situations, all except for the wipers parking in the up position. That's a malfunction in the parking mechanism of the wiper motor that usually is cured by lubrication (if you do a forum search you will likely find the answer to that question).

The Chilton's manual is no good. Get the factory service manual, it has all the wiring diagrams and ground points.

Try www.autozone.com (http://www.autozone.com), they are free and a good place to start, I suspect that DIY R M's is SPAM, so I would suspect he is trying to sell something either now or later.....

shanestieber - had many of these problems with my 99.
windows started not rowing up and down all the time now they dont at all - check switches, I replaced driver's side window motor.
electronic door locks only lock the vehical not unlock them - wires under passenger side carpet are probably corroded. Search this forum you'll find it's an easy fix! :)
gas gauge only works when i have the car sitting still and nothing moving - sender is probably bad; fingers are probably corroded. Search this forum, there's a GM additive that actually helps.
air bag light on i have no idea what caused it - probably a sensor issue. Good luck!
