Hey guys I have not posted here in a while:) Enjoying many miles with my silverado but now an issue has occured perhaps someone can guide me in the right direction ...when I start my truck and drive it after a few mins or so, the truck wants to stall and sometimes stop on me for some strange reason.... after a reset or several and i let the truck warm up a bit, the truck runs just fine....No Engine codes .. I replaced the Egr valve from a junk yard thinking that it might be the problem. however, the problem still exist... I called a gm tech and he said it could be a fuel pump problem any advice would be great keep in mine that this only happens after I let the truck sit for a while

since this occurs when cold/cool ONLY...I would suspect the ECT is out of range..when this occurs the computer will not command a rich mixture when cold..this is the result...also NO check engine CODES .....
It is possible that the fuel pump may be putting out a slightly below spec pressure...or other fuel componets/filter/reg...
since only cold start issue this is a good guess..also a cheap part ..

I just had a similar problem with my '98. Spent weeks trying to find the problem. Turns out it was the ENG-I fuse in the box under the hood. Although mine is a 5.7 I would assume that yours has the same fuse. Check that and other fuses.

is your 4.3 fuel injected or do you have a cap and rotor. if you have a cap and rotor replace them. the design of the cap causes arcing in side. since it does it cold i would say you have water in side and it arks. you will get no codes till the truck dang near stops running.

This seems very plausable... at one time I belive I did get an engine code for the ECT awhile ago but the truck was fine then and I didnt think much of it.... maybe its coming back to bite me in the ass:( but would I see it in idle??? the truck revs and seems to idle ok in park
I talkled to another silverado owner today and he belives it the fuel regulator ill have to check it and see
