89 LSC suddenly a hard brake pedal

Bought it about 6 months ago, didn't know the old owner put tape over the brake warning light (oh well), pulling into the driveway suddenly the pedal is hard like no power boost and i noticed the pump doesn't come on anymore :confused:

come on everybodies stumped on this one?

Switched relays, found out it was dead, pump and everthing works fine now. Hope it might help somebody else
