TPS at 10% when closed

I am working on a 2004 Mustang with a 3.9L V6 that has random and specific cylinder misfire codes. I notice with my scan tool that the TPS is not reading 0% when the throttle is closed; is this normal? My thought is that this may be contributing to the misfires and I should reset it to read 0%. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? The engine has low mileage, around 45,000.
Thanks, John

Hi John. It is a normal TPS reading. I have a scan-guage on my Escort. The TPS on it is 13 at idle and 92 at full throttle. I would be looking else-where for the misfire codes.
Have you looked into vacuum leaks. That could cause a misfire. Many times have I seen a recurring misfire condition after replacing all the ignition components. Dave

Clean the MAF sensor, check for vacuum leaks, check the spark plugs and COPs, and check fuel pressure.

Thanks for the input. I have just started troubleshooting this and wanted to clear up the TPS reading before replacing anything. I haven't detected any vacuum leaks and since the misfires reportedly happen during rainy or damp weather I am looking towards the ign wires, but don't see anything obvious there either. Will probably replace the plugs and wires and wait to see what happens.
Thanks again,
John
