Hello.

Getting the dreaded "red airbag indicator" on speedometer...It stays constant on..Tried disconnecting battery a few minutes...did no good...checked wiring/connectors under seats..they seem OK...Could it be a sensor issue? and can Advanced Auto or Auto Zone pull a code off of it?

Thanks,Pete

More than likely the warning light has come on because there is an open someplace in the circuit keeping the bag from deploying in an accident. Most of the time it is because the connectors under the horn pad have lost conductivity or the sensors on the front bumper are no longer grounded to the frame. I don't think they can pull a code at the jobber. OBDII just monitors engine and transmission codes. There is no worry the bag will deploy at the wrong time. Safegaurds are built into the system to keep this from happening. I'm afraid your only recourse is to take it to the "dreaded dealer". I took mine in and they wanted big bucks for an airbag control module. I always wear my seat belt. I figure if I have an accident that will be one thing I won't have to get fixed. We don't have inspections here in Arkansas. I put some black tape over the icon display. "Don't do this" lol
