Will a 420a ECU from a '96 work in '95 Shell?

I'm looking into buying '95 Eagle Talon shell, but the motor I plan on swapping into it is from a '96.
I'm aware the '95 420a DSMs have a different ECU's than the ones from '96 down. But what I need to know is can I use the ECU from the '96 in the '95 shell? Would I have to swap out the harness as well? Is the harness a direct swap?
I just don't want to use the ECU from the '95 because they're known for having problems, at least the ones I've encountered have been junk.

The harness is different as well. 95s are a single piece and the 96+ are 2 piece connectors. Best way would be to just replace the whole harness. The coilpack connector will be different, going from the round to the flat pin. Bu I believe that's the only other difference.

You mean replace the 95 harness with the 96 harness? How easy is that to do?

Shouldn't be too hard. I never had any problems with the 95 ECU personally, and never really heard of anyone else having problems with them. They're cheap enough to replace anyways. I would just keep that in there.
