i took my tint off today... i never really liked the look of black against the light blue. yeah, and removing tint really sucks. took atleast 4 hours to do the back three windows. the back window was the biggest pain, since i couldnt use a blade on it. i hope i never wrecked any defroster lines. anyways, i scrubbed away all day and it sucked. here's a pic of my "cleaner" civic. looks like a granny car again haha.

yeah, i thought about picking up some new windows at the junkyard.. but theyd probly be expensive. getting that leftover glue off takes time, i was using Ammonia, superfine wire scrubber, razorblade. the ammonia helps a lot.
that bug was atleast an inch and a half long. i wonder what it is

hey here is a tint remove'n trick from the PRO's:
take a large garbage bag and a spray bottle from the hardware store and find a really sunny hot day roll all the windows up on your car and take a large bag a beer and the spray bottle with amonia in it and spray the windows really good and then take the large trash bag and put it in the window and make sure its really wet... then go drink your beer and relax in the shade while the sun takes the tint off :) then after u are good and buzzed repeat that step for all the windows and u will have a tint free window in no time (allow about 30min per window in hot weather for the tint to be complete soft and slide off) u can also then take the spray bottle and spray at the tint while u are pulling it off to help it slide off better :)

Newbie poster here... Hello to all
I just got the same tint removing info as ev0lution7 from a pro tinter here in Colorado. I am not looking forward to using it. Just bought a 91 Si and the tint was applied in patches.

welcome to the boards thrill.
i still say breaking the windows and writing it off as a insurance claim is easier.

i had to take my tint off and what i found that really helped is i worked at a hollywood video and they have a heat gun ( its like a hair blow dryer, but gets hotter) and i had it on the oposite side that i was scraping with a razor, it took it off in a second, but watch your fingers cause it gets fucking HOT.

soak it down with windex and then use a sharp new razor blade.;)
