Hi,
My 00' GP se v6 128,300+ KM ignition switch is not working properly. I notice the issue yesterday when I tried to turn the engine off the key would not turn all the way off so the car remains on AND the indicated light is on (P) parked. How I got the switch to turn completedly off I mess with the master lock buttons on driver-side panel to lock all door on the car. However, today on my way to work it did it again. My car ignition switch is still on not off because the key won't turn all the way to off so the indicated light on park remains on. Please fellow help me on this one!

It sounds like you have a bent or worn tumbler in the ignition cylinder. Is your key worn, or do you or someone else that drives the car have a mass of keys that hang from the ignition?

Yes, as a matter of fact myself and my wife drives the car. She was the one to drive the car with the copied key on the first day it started. Her key sticks or hang out, meaning it doesn't go all the way inside the ignition. I have the master key-or say the original. Likewise, our keys are not worn. What must I do?

I'm confused...I thought this was the classic symptom of the solenoid on the shift interlock failing?
Or is the OP saying it's locking in the Second position (run), and not the First position (ACC)?

yeah, I not savvy with the lingo you using but I can say when I turn the key to crank the car, no problem. However; when I attempt to turn the car off the key stop half way, i.e the indicator light on parked. So what I have to do is pull the key out the ignition, though the car make the beeping sound because technical the key is presumely still in the ignition, and lock the doors manually with my hand.

I see...that is different than what I was thinking...

It sounds to me that the ill-fitting copied key messed up the ignition cylinder tumblers, which means time for a new ignition cylinder, or just a repair/recode of your old one. Get a new key cut at the dealer for your wife, and toss that one she has now.

Hey,
On my way to work I had no problems cranking up the car and shutting it off; I guessed since I used my key (oem key). Likewise, when I arrive home it was able to turn off all the way. I didn't had to pull out the key out of the ignition causing the car to make that warning beeping sound because the car is still technically still on. So you suggest I should go to the dealer and get a replacement oem key for my wife or replace ignition cylinder?

Since you are not having any problems with your OEM key. I would go to the dealer to get a new key.
