Turbo SH and Emissions

Hey people
I just joined the forums and was hoping to get good advice from veteran lude owners out there about turbo and emissions.
I live in the state of CA and I know the emission laws are quite tuff. So for those who live in CA or similar states that have tuff emissions laws, how do u go about in handling your emissions after boosting your ludes? Do u just take your turbos off once a year and smog it or what?
