Cooling fans wont shut off from a cold start without the AC even being turned on and AC compressor wont cycle at all I know the two systems are tied together somehow. Any ideas??

Make sure defrost isn't selected - that also turns on the AC automatically without telling you and cannot be overridden.

Next, check your temp gauge does it seem to be accurate (i.e. indicates cold and not near midpoint when engine is cold started)? If not the engine coolant temperature sensor is bad.

The last thing could be a stuck cooling fan relay - I would think that this would keep your cooling fans running after turning off the engine though.

There are no recalls or TSBs related to the cooling fans.

Possible stuck relay. I would try switching similar relays around in the fuse/relay box under the hood and see if it goes away.

Get it on a good engine capable scanner and check engine tempt sensor Reading in computer and see if the computer is commanding cooling fans on or off.

Will the cooling fans stop when you remove cooling fan relay?
