98 Grand Voyager 3.3 167K Could someone please tell me how to obtain my codes? I've read some of the threads very helpful. 100% sure I have a OBD-II Can I do the key on-off 3 times in 5 secs ? with an OBD-II Do not have a code reader for this vehicle. Engine light came on this afternoon. Any help would be appreciated

Starting from the 1996 model year all cars are OBDII compliant. Yes the key dance should work to get your codes. You'll either have to count the flashes of the service engine soon light or read them directly off the odometer. The flashing light will give you 2 digit MIL codes. The odometer will give you 4 digit DTC codes. The later give you more detailed info but, we can still work with MIL codes. Confused? Head to your nearest chain type auto parts store and have them connect a scanner and read the codes. Many do it for free. Autozone for one. Getting any symptoms besides the light?

Ok tried the "Key-Dance" thing. No go it didn't work. Tried it 4 or 5 times no blinking codes! It did turn the Service Engine Soon light off after turning key on-off 3 times but no codes. When I was done trying. I started it back up Service Engine Light is still on:banghead: Maybe I'm not doin it right. Van has no other symptoms, runs fine. Is there a "Jump-Wire" thing I can do with the computer port plug? ( Located below steering wheel near floor ) Looks like I'll be going to Autozone early saturday to have them scan for codes
