Tape Deck Adaptor

I recently bought a tape deck adaptor for my Toyota Camry '98. It hasn't worked since I bought it, every time I put it in it works for 5 seconds while making this loud spinning sound and then spits it back out.

This is the second adaptor I've bought for it thats done this this week. I figure something has to be wrong with the cassette player because I used to have a sony adaptor about a year ago and it worked perfectly.

Anybody have the same problem or could help me out with this problem?

Does a tape actually play in the cassette player? Have you tried the adaptor in another car's cassette player?

Yeah. Figured out that I need a new radio and player. Well, the radio's fine but the cassette doesn't work anymore. I guess now I'll just find a cd player/radio with an mp3 jack.
