Again it is a 1990 K2500 350 auto...... Same one I have the key off draw in...
Ok here goes trouble with passenger side rear taillight..Light comes on with head lights and parking light just fine..No hazards no turn signal and no brake light..So I redid the ground no help. Swapped taillights from another truck no change.. The way it was acting I was sure it needed a new board so I replaced it this morning and still no go...So I got out the test light and tested just after the rear plug and no power to the green wires.. So I went and tested before the splice for the plug in the bed for the goose neck.No power..Now I check at the plug under the hood at the firewall and no power..I the tested at the plug at the bottom of the steering column and found power..Green wire blinks on and off...
So what I want to do is test power to the terminal that the harness under the hood plugs into but I can't seem to figure out how the clip is held on..

Also how do I remove this if need be???

It was my almost new blaupunkt London Head unit..
I had it in my 92 and I use the adapter kit for the wires so I thought it should be plug and play...Never crossed my mind it was bad..Till I got bent and started unplugging everything and when I pulled the plug on it the light in the test light went out..Stepped on the brake pedal and both lit up so I run the blinkers and they all worked too...
This is my take on it,,,I pulled the factory head to find all the wires cut off close to the radio. No way of rewiring that one..So I'm guessing that the batt was still hot when they cut it with snips and shorted something out...When I plugged mine in it popped it...My head will now work if just the batt hot lead is hooked up no need for acc wire..So for a short term fix I just wired both batt lead and acc lead to the acc so it goes off with the key and does not kill the batt over night...
Good side my taillights work and the batt does not go dead.Bad side the clock does not work always starts at 12:00 lol........
O and I was kinda amazed to see that a bad radio would stop the right taillight from working..Guess you just never know...

Well i'm glad to see you figured it out. I would not have guessed that either.
Maybe you have one of those "left handed" radios, lol
Thanks for letting us know the outcome and your fix.........
And good job

Thanks!!!!!!!!!
Now the only light that does not work is the 4X4 light on the floor shifter....
I will hunt that down but still have lots of more importing this to fix....
