2003 venture, wrong key used now wont start

I have a 2003 Venture. i took it to my brothers last night to have him put new bulbs in my tail lights. on my key i had the right key and my spare key(that i just added RIGHT before going to his house to save me time at that point) Well he grabbed my keys to turn it over to see which bulbs in the back were out. He used the spare key (which ONLY opens the doors because of the chip) it got stuck but we got it out. BUT NOW the right key will go but WONT turn it over to start. its locked!
We have tried disconnecting the battery, checked the fuses, looked thru the manuel, we cant finad anything that works!!! the dealership said it would have to be reprogrammed :( is there any other answer?? we just bought this van used a couple months back, we dont have any extra $$ like that!

There is a relearn procedure for the security system I believe it goes like this: Put the good key in the ignition, turn it to start briefly (don't start the engine) then leave the key in the run position (as if you had started the engine and wanted to let it run for a while) leave it in the run position for 10 minutes, then turn the key of for 5 seconds and repeat the procedure 2 more times then it should start just fine. If that doesn't work you may have to take it to the dealer or a good locksmith that can perform the relearn.
