canister purge solenoid

94 Chevy Caprice ; My engine light was on so I got it check 2day...It was my canister purge solenoid...do i need 2 change vaccum lines or jus replace the solenoid...Give me sum suggestion???

IMHO it could be both, however I think most likely the solenoid needs to be replaced. The vacuum lines should be in good condition though. If you have a shop manual you may be able to diagnose it but if you have the money you can just replace it.

Perhaps the electrical connection is weak, shorting, or open -- if this is the case then you may not need a new solenoid but instead need to make sure the wires and connector look good.

If you don't fix it soon enough it may be possible you will have additional costs such as a new charcoal canister (it can fill up with gas).
