F-150 Vs. Harley Edition

Pizzle00
05-02-2003, 06:28 PM
Okay okay.....here it goes,
So I have a 2001 F-150 that at the time only had 1 engine modification which was the K&N air intake system......and one day I was challenged at a light by a harley edition (Which is supercharged) so just for kicks I accepted the challenge and we punched it at the first sight of green..it was a good race up until about 60 and then he started falling behind and eventually had NO chance of catching up. I was shocked !! Soo..I assumed that maybe his truck wasnt running tip-top that day, yet low and behold maybe a week later ANOTHER harley (this time it was, I believe, brand spanking new) met with me at a light and he also challenged me and it was the last race all over again, close off the line but he just fell behind.
Sooooooooo...I'm curious why this happened ?? I had the 5.4 triton engine all stock except the Air filter system so what gave me the win against a SUPERCHARGED harley ??? :bloated:

hmmm lets take a looksie...

HD Edition F150
5.4 Triton V8 with S/C
340hp @ 4500rpm
425tq @ 3250rpm
4700lbs
3.73 LSD

Your F150
5.4 Triton V8
260hp @ 4500rpm
350tq @ 2500rpm
4500lbs
3.23 Open Rear

Interesting... well you say they started to fall back at higher speeds... All i can think is the 20" tires they come with and the 3.73 gear started to hurt its performance... thus your truck had the better advantage. Your lighter weight also played a small part as well. And you make your peak torque lower which means you should in theory accelerate just as hard as they do... I dunno theres about 600 factors to run through but i'll just make it short and sweet...

Nice kill! :)

who knows how it happened.. but dont try to think to much about it... its one of those things that if you think about it for too long blood will shoot out of your nose at random... just accept it and be happy like we all are when something odd like that happens.

Ya know Mr. Man its possible to manually shift the automatic for more power... It is possible, she got the better launch... possibly powerbraked it...

So it is possible... she's the better driver.

And are you trying to say women cant drive? :D Had to throw that in... Just to be mean. :finger:

for all practical purposes, manually shifting both trucks or powerbraking on street tires on the street won't get you very far...

i'm not saying she can't drive, but on the street, the easiest way to drive either truck is with your foot on the floor from green, and both hands on the wheel...

yep, you know it... girls can't drive... ;)

You sure? powerbraking seems to work better for me then just flooring it. Maybe I should experiment with that somewhere.

in most cases, depending on what you'e driving, it's not much of an advantage, depending the factory stall convertor...

i don't think it would make a hugely noticeable difference on the street, but different on the track, yeah...

my point is that for all practical purposes, if you launched both the same way, or similarly, they'd do about the same... off the line...

i'm rambling...

Well of course they would...But that's the point of being a better driver. You do something the other driver doesn't to get ahead. And powerbreaking in my friend's stock geared and converted 99 LS1 makes a huge difference off the line as compared to when he doesn't. Same thing in another buddy's Prelude. And this is on the street of course.

There is actually a sweet spot in alot of cars for brake boosting off the line. The trick is to time it just right, so you aren't just holding the brake and the gas at the same time, but instead time it just right as the engine revs it will peak slightly higher then where it will come to a rest, try and time it so you can drop at the peak, be carefull of wheel spin.

Are you sure it was a supercharged F-150? There is not many ways to tell from the outside if its the supercharged or the older N/A version. My friend recently bought a Harley davidson supercharged edition and it feels fairly fast considering the weight of the thing.

-The Stig-
05-04-2003, 10:18 PM
Well, as far as I know all the HD editions are S/C'd... and she said she raced two HD F150s... so its a fairly good bet they were S/C'd...

Ooooooh boy did I miss alot !!!
Okay to start off.....GIRLS CAN DRIVE ,obviously, if I'm hardly ever beaten !! hehehe
And second...no powerbraking involved in these races though I would have to agree it makes a difference.
Ummm...third....my next mod will be a Diablo chip next weekend and I'm checking out some pulleys. Not ready for the nos yet, I could buy it whenever but I can honestly say I'm not ready for that kind of power...lol.
And 18's are in the near future but I have found the perfect jaw-dropping ones I'm looking for.
And finally......Nothing personal with the quote "Silly boys, Trucks are for girls"......its just something I like to say....I'm one of the only chicks with a fast truck down here....ALOT of the guys are in the cars.
ok, ok, I think thats it :bloated:

understandable that you're a girl in a fast truck...

come up here to cleveland...

lots of fast trucks, driven by guys...

my truck included...

that's what happens when you work in the aftermarket...

bags, big rims, fast trucks... that's my job...

and if you're looking at an ecu upgrade, a power programmer is a better way to go, as compared to a chip...
if you're interested in that kinda stuff, drop me a pm...

or maybe, you're not a female at all, and you don't own a truck, let alone an f150...

maybe, just maybe, you're really the butler, and you wanted to have all the glory to yourself, and you couldn't have it, so you came and created fictional characters to portray the image you could never have...

yeah, that's it... ;)

to bring light to your unlikely scenario, in my house, we have 1 home pc, and 4 laptops, all of which could be connected to the internet under different users...

so i could theoretically have 5 names running at once...

would i do it?
no.

but it's definitely possible...

So does this mean you finally acknowlege that I am a female ?? Whether ya'll believe that I am married and that was my husband that made that cute little post is none of my concern. If you choose not to believe facts it bothers me in no way !!!
sooooooo....now what ??
Shall we challenge if I am even a real person at all ???? lol

flylwsi
05-05-2003, 06:37 PM
it's a feasible challenge to make...

you could be some other user on the site fucking with us...

for the sake of argument of course...

but i know better, and hey... whatever floats your boat...

but if you want to know if the argument could go on, yeah, it could...

until someone gets your user IP and then tracks you down and does everything else to prove you are who you say, let alone female...

this could totally go into an FBI investigation if someone here was bored enough...

but i digress... :licker:

Wow man...I think you have a seriuos issue with just trusting what is said. Or maybe you just get a thrill from challenging useless subjects ?
but hey, I've got all the time in the world so we can do what needs to be done.....The f.b.i. would be cool, I'd be impressed with whoever has the skills to get them after me :D
Okay....so what would change your mind ??

flylwsi
05-05-2003, 06:43 PM
i'm not saying i doubt you...

i'm just playing devil's advocate for the funk of it...

it doesn't matter to me...

but it wouldn't be that hard to track everything down, simply tracking the IP address, tracking your email address, finding the owner of said IP address, comparing it with the owner of the email addy, then back tracking, finding out who the IP addy is registered to, and then back through there.

if it's in a guy's name, it'd be easy to find out if he's married, then who his wife is, and what she drives...

it'd take a few days, but it could be done...

scary how easy the internet makes it... huh?
