I think I've used up all of my model-hunting luck for the next few years!

I was doing my usual trawl of the charity shops in Ilkley today, and Cancer Research has a nice box of the Revell Marauder in "Flak Bait" markings, for £2.50, so I bought it. Then I spotted the old Revell Lanc in the "jigsaws pile" for £3, so I bought that, too. By then, I wondered if they had anything else, so I asked. The nice lady said "No, but there might be a car.... it'll be a bit more expensive because it's James Bond. OK, I said, hardly daring to breathe, "I'll take a look." And out she came, saying "It's a lot more I'm afraid - six pounds fifty..."

And here it is:

Of course, I'll be building it, not selling it!

What bargains have you guys found unexpectedly?

bestest,
M.

Lucky so and so. None of my local charity shops ever have any kits in  Hopefully, you're going to put a WIP here for that Aston ? It'd be interesting to see it compared to Airfix's last released 1/24 DB5.

On Craigslist, I found a guy getting rid of his 1/12 and 1/20 F1 Tamiya kits. I paid around US$200 for the following:

1/12:
McLaren MP4/6 (new)
Williams FW14B (new)
Ferrari 312T (new)
Heller Ligier JS 11 (new)
Renault RE20 (partially started, easy to disassemble and strip)
Lotus 78 (partially started, easy to disassemble and strip)
Matra MS11 (partially started, easy to disassemble and strip)
Protar Alfa 179 (partially started, easy to disassemble and strip)

1/20:
Ferrari F189
Benetton B192
Ferrari 312T3
Ferrari 310B

Crazy, isn't it? :smokin:

that bond kit goes for bit of money on ebay.
Seeing as the re-issue can be found quite regularly, if i were you, i'd be tempted to sell the airfix and buy a re-issue kit and have a little extra loose change in my pocket.

Did you pay $200 for the lot?

Anyway, yesterday there was the Annual PX (Don't know what PX stands for) near my house in Brisbane, Australia. I got the Tamiaya Ferrari Enzo for $38 dollars (AUD), I could of budged a bit more but that was stiil a good price and I also bought a Revell 37' delivery van that was all packaged and original for $20 (AUD). I could have also bout numerous Tamiya kits for $20 (AUD) including an F40 and Mitsubishi Evo V but not enough money or change in my pocket. Still that was a bargain!

Yep! That's why it was such a bargain!

Picked up these two Bandai 1/12 kits at a local Toy Fair for about 10 Euros each. Saw them on this website for Euro 800 (Matra MS11) and Euro 745 (Lotus49) recently.

Quite frankly I fail to see the value here - they may be rare but so are dinosaur droppings, and I'm certainly not shelling out a fortune for either!
