my dad got a delta 88 royale 1981.. 4.3 with about 60,000 miles on it.. he stored the car for a while (couple of years) and just recently took it out.. he wants to sell it but it developed a lil prob since he took it out.. it got a coolant leak now.. looks like a good amount of coolant is leaking from the water outlet. the left side of the outlet to be exact.. kinda seems like its coming from the bolt on that side.. but was wondering if any1 has had similar situations and possible things it could be?

4.3? Are you sure this is not a 307 8 cyl. Olds. if so the intake gaskets were a common leak area, as was the 260 Engine or 4.3

They look the same and have the same issues, press. test the cooling system for a better diagnosis.

No. You should have a 195 deg thermostat in that, meaning that the minumum operating temp is 195.
But chances are you have a 180 deg stat. So long as it is not s computer-controlled car, 180 is fine. But lower temps are not better. A warmer engine, (195-220 deg) operates more efficiently and with less wear than lower temps.
As for the leak.... it may just be the thermostat housing gasket is gone. Easy fix.
