2000 AC Problems

The evaporator was replaced on my ac about 2 weeks ago due to a leak. The ac blows nice cold air, when it runs.

I will turn it on and it runs fine for awhile, but then shuts off. If I turn the control to a non-ac setting (or shut the vehicle off) for about 5 minutes and then back to ac the ac works again for a while. It doesn't seem to do it all the time. I drove it for almost half an hour the other day and it worked fine.

I don't think it's low on freon, it's acting completely different. It almost seems like something is getting hot and shutting down.

Also, should the electric fan run when the ac compressor is on?

Any thoughts/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I'll be willing to bet that your low pressure switch might be going bad on you. Every Chrysler vehicle that I have owned I have had to replace that switch. As far as the condenser fan, yes it should be on when the compressor is on, but that would affect the a/c only when you are sitting at an idle, not while you're driving.
